Abstract

Muhammad Arsyad. 2021. The Effect of Parent Parenting, Principal Leadership, and Teacher Competence toward Student Achievement at the UPT SMP Negeri Buki District, Selayar Regency, supervised by Ahmad Firman and Abdul Rahman Abdi.
This study aims to determine the effect of parenting, principal leadership, and teacher competence on student achievement at UPT SMP Negeri in Buki District, Selayar Islands Regency.
The study approach used was a quantitative and conducted at UPT SMP Negeri in Buki District in Selayar Islands Regency, from December 2020 to January 2021. The sampling technique was a census with a total of 129 students as respondents. The results showed that (1) Parenting Patterns partially had a negative effect on student achievement (2) The leadership of the principal partially had a positive effect on student achievement (3) Teacher competence partially had a negative effect on student achievement.
The implication of this research is that to improve student achievement, parents must use democratic parenting patterns and the principal must be able to understand and properly implement the competency standards of the principal. As
well as teachers must be able to understand and actualize well the five teacher competency standards.
