This study aims to analyze the role of Om Chick culinary UMKM in absorbing labor and its contribution to reducing unemployment in Makassar City.
This research uses a qualitative approach with interview and observation methods. This study explores how Om Chick's business strategies, business expansion, and recruitment policies influence job availability in the area.
The research results show that Om Chick has opened various branches andabsorbed labor from various backgrounds, especially high school graduates. Additionally, the skillstrainingprovidedtoemployees helpsimprovelaborquality,thusstrengtheningthe impact of this UMKM on reducing unemployment rates. The main obstacle in recruitment is thelowskillsofpotentialemployees,whichisovercomethroughinternaltrainingprograms. Furthermore, Om Chick's flexibility in providing job opportunities for new workers and its business partnership system contribute to local economic growth.
