Abstract

Kisman. 2023. The Effect of Competence, Work Motivation and Commitment on
Employee Performance at the Inspectorate of West Sulawesi Province (supervised by
Sylvia and Muhammad Idris)
This study aims to analyze the effect of competence, work motivation and
commitment partially and simultaneously on employee performance at the Inspectorate of
West Sulawesi Province.
The population in this study were all employees of the Inspectorate of the
Province of West Sulawesi, totaling 70 people with the consideration that the data and
information needed are easier to obtain and are more accurate and very relevant to the
subject matter which is the object of this research. Because the population is less than
100 people, the sample is determined by saturated sampling technique (census). So that
the number of samples used in this study were 70 respondents. The use of the entire
population as a research sample is known as saturated sampling or census technique.
Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires where each
respondent's answer was assessed using a score according to a Likert scale.
The results of this study indicate that competence, work motivation and
commitment partially each have a positive and significant effect on employee
performance at the Inspectorate of West Sulawesi Province. From the results of the F test
or simultaneous testing, it shows that Fcount is 33.700 and Ftable is 2.74. So it shows
that Fcount > Ftable with a significance of 0.000 <0.05. These results indicate that
competence, work motivation and commitment simultaneously have a significant effect on
employee performance at the Inspectorate of West Sulawesi Province. Furthermore, the
competency variable is the variable that has the most dominant effect with a beta value of
0.406.
