Abstract

Simung 2020. The Effect of Training and Development and Promotion of Position on Employee Performance in Penitentiary in Maros Regency. Supervised by Saban Echdar and Asri.
This research is a correlational quantitative study, the research instrument used was a questionnaire. This research aims to determine and analyze the effect of training and development variables and job promotions on employee performance at the Penitentiary in Maros Regency.
The population used in this study were all employees of the Maros Regency Penitentiary, totaling 53 people. The sampling technique used is boring sampling, so all elements of the population are used as research samples. The research data
analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis.
The results of this study are training and development and promotion of positions have a positive and significant effect partially and simultaneously on the performance of employees at the Penitentiary in Maros Regency. The most
dominant variable affecting employee performance is training and development, while the R Square value generated in multiple linear regression models is 0.624 or 62.4%, the rest is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
