This study aims to analyze (1) the effect of regional spending on economic
growth in Selayar Islands Regency (2) whether capital expenditures can moderate the
relationship between regional spending on economic growth in Selayar Islands Regency.
This study method using quantitative methods and conducted in Selayar Islands
Regency from July to August 2020. The population in this study is data on economic
growth, regional expenditure, and capital expenditure in Selayar Islands Regency. This
data is the monthly data for the last three years, namely 2017, 2018, and 2019 which were
sampled. Hypothesis testing uses multiple linear regression. The research instrument used
in this data collection is by using data collection. Data collection is done by accessing
the available data from the Regional Government of the Selayar Islands Regency.
The results show that (1) the regional expenditure variable has an effect on
economic growth by 82%. Regional expenditure variable has a positive effect on
economic growth so that the greater the regional expenditure in Selayar Islands Regency
the greater the effect on economic growth (2) the effect of regional spending when
moderated by capital expenditure on economic growth is 34%, capital expenditure
becomes a mediation / intermediary in the relationship between regional spending on
economic growth but the effect is not significant.
