This study aims to determine (1) the effect of the Principal's leadership on the learning achievement of State Elementary School students in Soreang district, Parepare City (2) the effect of teacher competence in the teaching and learning process toward learning achievement at the Public Elementary School students in Soreang district,
Parepare City (3) the effect between the principal's leadership and the teacher's competence in the teaching and learning process simultaneously toward the students learning achievement at public elementary school in the Soreang District, Parepare City.
The design of this study is a descriptive correlational study. The variable student is the achievement variable as the dependent variable. The object of this study is Public Elementary School students in Soreang District, Parepare City, and South Sulawesi. The sample is obtained by the
table from Sane and Michael (Sugiyono, 2013) with confidence level of 95% and obtain a sample of 280 students class VI. Analysis of the data used descriptive analysis, product-moment correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis.
The results show that (1) There is a significant effect between the principal leadership with student achievement at the Public Elementary Schools in Soreang district, Parepare City in average category (2) There is a significant effect between teacher competence and student achievement at the Public Elementary School in Soreang, Parepare City with average category (3) There is a significant effect of school principals leadership and teacher competence simultaneously toward the learning achievement of elementary school students with an 82.0%, which means that there are 18.0% other variables besides the leadership of school principals and teacher competencies towards student learning achievement, namely student learning motivation, teacher teaching motivation, and organizational culture.
