Abstract

Melga Ervana Febrianti Herry. 2022. The Effect of Information Asymmetry and Disclosure Levels on the Cost of Capital in Manufacturing Companies Listed on the IDX. Supervisor I Abdullah and Supervisor II Andi Ummul Khair.
This study aims to (1) determine the partial effect of information asymmetry and level of disclosure on the cost of capital in Manufacturing Companies listed on the IDX. (2) Knowing the simultaneous effect of information asymmetry and level of disclosure on the cost of capital in Manufacturing
Companies listed on the IDX. (3) Knowing the most dominant variables that affect the cost of capital in Manufacturing Companies listed on the IDX.
The sample in this study was 20 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2020. This research uses multiple linear regression analysis method with the help of SPSS Version 22. Data analysis uses
multiple linear regression analysis method which is preceded by classical assumption test consisting of normality test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test. Then the t test (partial), F test (simultaneous) and the
coefficient of determination (R2) test.
The results show that (1) partially information asymmetry and level of disclosure have a negative and significant effect on the cost of capital in Manufacturing Companies listed on the IDX in 2018-2020. (2). Simultaneously,
information asymmetry and level of disclosure have a positive and significant effect on the cost of capital in Manufacturing Companies listed on the IDX in 2018-2020. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination (R2), 14.8% of the cost of capital is influenced by information asymmetry and the level of disclosure. While the remaining 85.2% is influenced by other variables not
examined in this study. (3) Information asymmetry is the most dominant variable affecting the cost of capital in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2020.
