Abstract

Andi Zakiah Nur. 2021. The Effect of Organizational Commitment and Workload on Performance Through Employee Work Motivation at the Education and Culture Office in Selayar Islands Regency, supervised by Ahmad Firman and Asri.
This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of organizational commitment and workload on performance through employee work motivation at the Department of Education and Culture Office in Selayar Islands Regency.
This research is a confirmatory research. This research is categorized as survey research, where the research instrument is a questionnaire. The sample in this study took
the entire population of State Civil Apparatus employees at the Education and Culture Office of the Selayar Islands Regency, amount 42 number of people. Data were collected
by questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique used is path analysis with a mediation model (intervening) model.
The results of this study indicate that : 1) Organizational commitment has a significant positive effect on the performance of the employees of the Education and Culture Office of the Selayar Islands Regency, 2) Workload has a significant negative effect on the performance of the employees of the Education and Culture Office of the
Selayar Islands Regency, 3) Organizational commitment has no effect on the performance of the employees of the Selayar Islands Regency Education and Culture Office, 4) Workload has a significant positive effect on the performance of the Education and Culture Office of the Selayar Islands Regency, 5) Work motivation has a significant positive effect on the performance of the Selayar Islands Regency Education and Culture Office's employees, 6) Organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance through work motivation , 7) Workload has a negative and
significant effect on employee performance through work motivation. The higher the workload, the more demanded by employees in improving their performance, but providing motivation will indirectly encourage a decrease in workload on employee performance.
